Community Action

Updated: Apr 28

Despite a lack of waves leading to the cancellation of the Surf Festival, we were still able to make an impact in our community. A portion of the money raised through our Blue Water Vagabond Surf Festival Opening Party was donated to two local non profit organizations. The Boys & Girls Club of Bellport shares our mission of engaging youth to take an active role in the environment. The funds helped to provide outdoor activities for kids enrolled in their summer program. The Brookhaven Action and Remediation Group (BLARG) works towards environmental justice in the North Bellport community. This organization organizes direct action, such as the community composting collective at the Bill Neal & Chris Hobson Community Garden, and is working to give voice to the North Bellport community, who are disproportionately impacted by the waste crisis on Long Island.
